Dark by four.

It is officially winter and that can only mean one thing, the nights are drawing in and for a photographer who works full time, that doesn’t leave much daylight for taking photos. I don’t mind night time photography but after a long day at work the last thing I want to do is head out into the cold dark night with my camera. This does mean I starting digging through old forgotten photos that lay hidden on memory cards scattered across my life. I do enjoy finding photos that I don’t remember ever taking and every now and then you find a gem.

Does it make me lazy, that I don’t want to get up at 7am on a Saturday or Sunday morning to go out and get some early morning photos? Or go out in the evening after a long day at work and stand in the cold to get that perfect long exposure shot? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t.

Luckily not all of the photographers on the site feel this way; they’ve had their alarm clocks set early and braved the cold dark nights to take some amazing photos.
